Dr David Whiteman

Double board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. David Whiteman has been performed an extensive range of breast, facial, and body procedures since 1993. With a special interest in breast surgery, Dr. Whiteman offers breast augmentation, breast reconstruction, breast revision, and breast reduction. To provide exceptional patient care and education, Dr. Whiteman is dedicated to providing the latest news and information as well as trialing new technology and techniques for improved breast surgery results.  He is also a featured contributor on RealSelf.com and a plastic surgery expert consultant for Best Self Atlanta Magazine, providing published answers to surgical questions.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Whiteman completed his plastic surgery residency at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, followed by fellowship training in advanced techniques of breast reconstruction and cosmetic surgery at Georgetown University. In 1996, he established his private practice, Southern Plastic Surgery, P.C. and today, he serves as Chief and Director of Surgical Services for Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, Georgia.

Dr. Whiteman is double board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; he also holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). Dr. Whiteman regularly participates in professional conferences and meetings, presenting trending topics on breast procedures.

Dr. Whiteman is highly involved in the community to further breast cancer support and awareness. He serves as the Medical Director of The Sport of Giving 501(c)(3), a non-profit organization that hosts grass roots athletic and non-athletic fundraising events and Founder of Life After the Fight, an interactive business directory for breast cancer survivors. Also, Dr. Whiteman created a “buddy system” for his patients to find support and discuss their breast cancer recovery.

In addition to his passion for breast procedures, Dr. Whiteman also has a special interest advocating a healthy lifestyle and offers lifestyle/weight management coaching sessions for his patients through ACE certified personal trainer Daryl Madison.
